International Workshop on Optical Thomson Scattering

University of Rochester • Rochester, NY
13–15 August 2019

Deadlines
Registration Deadline: June 14, 2019
Abstract Submission Deadline: July 8, 2019
Hotel Deadline: July 22, 2019

An international workshop on optical Thomson scattering will be held at the University of Rochester. With the ever-expanding interest in Thomson scattering, this three-day workshop (August 13–15, 2019) invites the participants to share their recent advancements. We anticipate participation from scientists working on plasmas that span a range of conditions (e.g., ICF, HED, and pulsed power) created at various facilities (e.g., Omega, NIF, MAGPIE, COBRA)

Potential topics include:

  • Plasma characterization
  • 5ω Thomson scattering on the NIF
  • Measuring electron distribution functions with collective Thomson scattering
  • Thomson-scattering techniques/lessons learned in implementing Thomson scattering on large laser facilities
  • Advanced modeling of Thomson-scattering spectra
